MED Health and Safety Advisories

If the MED identifies evidence of contaminants in regulated marijuana or other public health and safety risks to consumers, the MED may issue a Health and Safety Advisory (see below) to warn the public not to consume and to dispose of any contaminated product they may have purchased.

MED has asked all regulated marijuana stores to print and display this Health & Safety Advisory flyer at the point of sale. It contains a QR code for consumers to sign up for MED's Health and Safety Advisories. In addition, consumers can click the link below to sign up for the advisories.

The Latest Health and Safety Advisory

C&R COLORADO LLC (dba Smokiez)

JUNE 17, 2025 - The Colorado Department of Revenue (DOR), in conjunction with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), is issuing a Health and Safety Advisory due to the identification of potentially contaminated Regulated
Marijuana Product produced by C&R Colorado LLC, doing business as Smokiez.

The CDPHE and DOR deem it a threat to public health and safety when marijuana is found to have been manufactured with ingredients that contain pesticides above the acceptable limits established in Colorado Marijuana Rule 4‐215. As a precautionary measure, this Advisory includes Production Batches that passed all required testing, but were later found to have been produced with ingredients exceeding regulatory limits established for the pesticide Chlorfenapyr.

C&R Colorado LLC collaborated with the Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) to initiate a voluntary recall for the affected Production Batches of Edible Regulated Marijuana Product. The affected product is listed in the advisory (by license number and
Production Batch) and was sold between 4/26/2025 and 6/11/2025 at approximately 85 stores across the state. A full list of these stores is available here. The MED has not received any reports of adverse health events related to these products to this point.

Individuals who possess this affected product should destroy it or return it to the store from which it was purchased for proper disposal. Individuals who experience adverse health effects after consuming the affected product should seek medical attention immediately and report the event to the MED by submitting an MED Reporting Form.
